Several brands have suspended their Twitter marketing campaigns after their advertisements appeared on accounts selling child porn.
Some major advertisers, including Dyson, Mazda, and the chemicals company Ecolab, have suspended or removed their advertisements from parts of Twitter because their promotions appear alongside tweets soliciting child pornography. Advertisements for at least 30 brands, including Walt Disney Co, Comcast Corp’s NBC Universal, and Coca-Cola Co, as well as a children’s hospital, have appeared on the profile pages of Twitter accounts that peddle links to the exploitative material, according to a Reuters report review of accounts identified in a new study about child sex abuse online from cybersecurity group Ghost Data.
