Google India removed over 1.38 million content pieces in August

Google received 37,282 complaints from individual users in India during the month of August and removed 1,38,332 content pieces based on the complaints received, according to its monthly transparency report.

In July of this year, the US-based company received 37,173 complaints and removed 6,89,457 pieces based on user complaints. The company received the most complaints about copyright violations during the month (35,469). Other reasons for the complaints included infringement of intellectual property rights, violation of local laws prohibiting defamatory content, counterfeit and impersonated content, and graphic sexual content.
