Zypp Electric, India’s leading EV-as-a-service platform, has partnered with Zomato, the country’s leading food delivery company, to deploy one lakh e-scooters by 2024. The collaboration aims to provide sustainable last-mile delivery options to customers while reducing carbon emissions.
Under the partnership, Zypp Electric will also provide delivery partners to Zomato for last-mile deliveries in various cities across the country. The EV platform has already deployed over 13,000 electric vehicles and aims to achieve more than one crore deliveries through its EVs by 2024, as per the company’s press release.
Zypp Electric’s COO and Co-founder, Tushar Mehta, stated that the collaboration would create a more efficient, sustainable, and customer-centric delivery experience, setting a new standard in the industry. Mehta added that the partnership would drive growth and expansion into multiple markets, empowering gig workers with exciting earning opportunities.
Zomato’s COO of Food Delivery, Mohit Sardana, said that the association would significantly reduce carbon emissions and bring more sustainable last-mile delivery options to their customers. He also mentioned that the partnership aligns with Zomato’s commitment to The Climate Group’s EV100 initiative to go completely electric by 2030.
Zypp Electric currently has around 50 major clients, including Swiggy, BigBasket, Amazon, Flipkart, Zepto, and Blinkit, among others. This collaboration with Zomato is part of a larger plan to promote sustainable mobility solutions and create a more eco-friendly delivery ecosystem in India.
Overall, this collaboration is a significant step towards a cleaner and more sustainable future for the last-mile delivery industry in India. With more companies adopting electric vehicles and promoting sustainable practices, the country can move closer towards achieving its climate goals while creating more opportunities for gig workers in the EV space.
