London-based startup Builder.ai has secured investment from tech giant Microsoft to collaborate on AI-powered solutions for application development. While the funding amount remains undisclosed, the partnership aims to empower businesses and enhance market presence by establishing connections between Microsoft’s Azure services and Builder.ai’s software assembly line.
The integration of Builder.ai’s AI product manager Natasha within the Microsoft Teams store will assist Microsoft customers in building prototypes for their business model applications. Additionally, Builder.ai will offer businesses integrated access to cloud services on Azure, supporting their digital transformation requirements.
The investment from Microsoft comes nearly a year after Builder.ai raised $100 million in a Series C funding round led by Insight Partners. The startup, founded in 2016, provides a platform that enables entrepreneurs to build applications without extensive coding knowledge, leveraging AI technology. Builder.ai claims that its platform can develop software and apps up to six times faster and up to 70% cheaper than traditional human teams.
This collaboration aligns with Microsoft’s vision of leveraging AI capabilities to compete with Google’s Workspace. Microsoft’s ChatGpt has already demonstrated the potential of AI in unlocking personal and professional productivity. In March, Microsoft introduced AI integration and features for its Office 365, including an AI assistant called Copilot.
The increased attention and investment in AI-focused startups reflect the growing popularity and widespread adoption of AI across various industries. India’s AI market, as per an IMARC report, is projected to surpass $3.9 billion by 2028. With the potential for AI technology to drive innovation and efficiency, startups like Builder.ai are well-positioned to meet the evolving needs of businesses in the digital era.
