Cricketer Virat Kohli announced the launch of the one8 Fitness app, an addition to his sportswear brand one8. Developed in collaboration with fitness app Trion, the app is now available for download on Android and iOS devices.
The one8 Fitness app aims to provide users with personalized workout programs that adapt to their fitness level and preferences. It caters to individuals at various stages of their fitness journey, from beginners to those with advanced training backgrounds. The app offers a wide range of training options, including strength, mobility, and athletic performance, enabling users to enhance their fitness regimen.
In addition to its training features, the app provides exclusive discounts from one8 and its partner brands, such as Puma, one8 Commune, one8 Select, Hyperice, and O’cean Beverages. It also features pre-recorded motivational messages from Virat Kohli during workout sessions.
The monthly subscription for the one8 Fitness app starts at INR 199, with a seven-day free trial offered to users upon downloading the app.
Founded in 2012, one8 is a sports-focused brand that offers athleisure wear, innerwear, fragrances, and footwear products. It operates a chain of cafes called one8 Commune and organizes running events called one8 Run.
Virat Kohli expressed his goal with the one8 Fitness app, stating, “With the one8 Fitness app, I aim to provide a platform that encourages people to make fitness a part of their daily routine. The app’s smart backend system creates personalized workout plans that cater to users’ individual needs, making fitness more accessible to everyone.”
Trion’s CEO, Tom Liljefors, emphasized the app’s unique workout experience, made possible through the collaboration with Virat Kohli. He added that the product is designed to engage fitness enthusiasts of all levels.
Virat Kohli joins a growing list of Indian celebrities endorsing or launching fitness brands. Bollywood actor Kriti Sanon is set to launch her own fitness platform, The Tribe, later this year, while actor Suniel Shetty has supported fitness startup Aquatein as a brand ambassador. Aishwarya Rai Bachchan also invested INR 5 Cr in 2021 in a nutrition-based healthcare startup called Possible.
The one8 Fitness app will face competition from other celebrity-led fitness platforms, as well as established players like Cult.Fit, Fittr, and HealthifyMe.
