Nokia launches Nokia 105 2023 and Nokia 106 with UPI functionality in India

HMD Global, the phone maker behind the Nokia brand, has introduced two new feature phones in India: the Nokia 105 2023 and Nokia 106. Priced at Rs 1,299 and Rs 2,199 respectively, these phones come with an in-built UPI 123PAY functionality, enabling users to perform digital transactions.

Ravi Kunwar, Vice President-India at HMD Global, expressed excitement about launching these market-leading feature phones and emphasized the relevance of introducing UPI features. The inclusion of UPI functionality aims to empower feature phone users, enabling them to conduct secure and convenient digital transactions, bridging the digital divide and promoting financial access for all.

Both the Nokia 105 2023 and Nokia 106 feature phones are equipped with IPS display technology, offering better viewing angles and color reproduction. The Nokia 105, powered by a 1,000 mAh battery, is known for its extended standby time. On the other hand, the Nokia 106 4G operates on a 1,450 mAh battery. Both phones feature a wireless FM radio, and the Nokia 106 4G also includes an in-built MP3 player.

The Nokia 105 and Nokia 106 4G will be available for purchase in India starting from May 18. The Nokia 105 comes in charcoal, cyan, and red colors, while the Nokia 106 4G is available in charcoal and blue colors.

With the introduction of UPI functionality in these feature phones, HMD Global aims to provide a seamless digital experience to a wider user base, enabling more individuals to embrace the benefits of digital transactions.
