In a joint effort to promote the adoption of electric vehicles (EVs) and streamline the licensing process, the Abu Dhabi Police, in partnership with the ADNOC Distribution Company, has unveiled two new dedicated lanes for testing EVs.
One of these lanes is located at the ADNOC Vehicle Inspection Centre in the Muroor area, while the other is situated at the Vehicle Inspection Centre in Al Bateen, Al Ain.
The purpose behind this initiative is to prioritize EV owners by providing them with specially-prepared lanes for efficient and convenient vehicle examinations. As the popularity of EVs continues to grow in Abu Dhabi, this move aims to encourage more residents to transition to cleaner and greener modes of transportation.
Brigadier General Muhammad Al Buraik Al Amiri, Director of the Drivers and Vehicles Licensing Directorate in the Central Operations Sector, expressed his enthusiasm for this unprecedented step. He highlighted that the opening of these two lanes aligns with the common goals of both organizations and supports the government’s national strategy for improving the quality of life.
The Abu Dhabi Police Drivers and Vehicles Licensing Directorate, in collaboration with ADNOC Distribution, is committed to delivering exceptional services and enhancing the technical inspection process for light vehicles. By prioritizing customer satisfaction and aligning with the government’s focus on quality of life, this partnership aims to elevate the overall customer experience and cater to the evolving needs of the community.
With the introduction of dedicated lanes for EV testing, Abu Dhabi is taking a significant stride towards promoting sustainable transportation and advancing its efforts in environmental conservation.
