Arjun Deshpande’s entrepreneurial journey started during his college years when he noticed the lack of access to affordable medicines. At just 16 years old, he founded a company offering affordable generic medicines as an alternative to expensive branded medications found in traditional pharmacies.

Generic Aadhaar and Tata’s Support

Arjun Deshpande dedication and hard work paid off as Generic Aadhaar gained popularity and disrupted the pharmaceutical industry in India. Renowned industrialist Ratan Tata, impressed by Arjun Deshpande vision after hearing him speak at a TED talk, has supported the company, which is now valued at approximately Rs 500 crore.

Arjun Deshpande – Recognition and Achievements

Arjun’s achievements gained recognition when Forbes and Fortune India included him in their prestigious lists. President Droupadi Murmu praised him in April for making medicines affordable, earning him the title “wonder kid of pharma.”

Expanding the Vision

Having made a significant impact in the Indian market, Generic Aadhaar is now considering expanding its operations to countries such as Bangladesh, Bhutan, UAE, Sri Lanka, and Myanmar. Arjun also has plans to open Generic Aadhaar stores in Oman, Dubai, Colombia, and Vietnam, further extending the reach of his innovative idea.

Arjun Deshpande’s success lies in his ability to eliminate intermediaries, reducing costs and making generic medicines more accessible.
