Edtech upskilling startup AlmaBetter, backed by Kalaari Capital, announced the launch of AlmaBetter Innovarsity on Monday. The new institute aims to provide post-graduate courses in data science, artificial intelligence (AI), and software development.

Affiliation with Global Collegiate Higher Education Institution

AlmaBetter Innovarsity has partnered with Woolf, a global collegiate higher education institution in the US. The institute will provide a master’s degree in computer science. Four specialization options will be available: data science and data analytics, artificial intelligence and machine learning, software engineering, and cloud computing.

AlmaBetter 15-Month Master’s Degree Programs

AlmaBetter Innovarsity offers 15-month-long master’s degree programs. The institute aims to equip 5,000 learners with a computer science degree by April 2024.

AlmaBetter Focus on Scholarships and Enhanced Learning Experience

The startup allocated INR 50 crore for the institute. The funds will be used for scholarships and enhancing students’ learning experience.

Targeting Working Professionals and Recent Graduates

AlmaBetter’s Innovarsity is specifically targeting working professionals seeking to transition into tech careers and recent graduates looking to explore niche tech roles. The institute’s offerings cater to individuals looking to enhance their skills and career prospects in the tech industry.

In 2020, Shivam Dutta, Vikash Srivastava, Ravi Kumar Gupta, Arshyan Ahsan, and Alok Anand founded AlmaBetter. The startup is known for providing upskilling courses in data science, software development, and blockchain domains. In November of the previous year, the startup secured $2.7 million in a seed funding round. Led by Kalaari Capital, along with participation from investors like Vidit Aatrey and Sanjeev Kumar from Meesho, and Rajesh Yabaji from Blackbuck.

Despite the funding winter impacting edtech startups, AlmaBetter strategically expanded into post-graduate programs to meet the rising demand for tech-focused upskilling and educational opportunities.

AlmaBetter’s commitment to offering relevant and valuable programs could prove beneficial for learners seeking to excel in the ever-evolving tech landscape.
