The incident came to light through a tweet from the woman’s husband, Ajay Agrawal, on the social media platform, X (formerly Twitter). Agrawal shared that his wife and son had accidentally boarded the wrong Uber cab, resulting in a physical assault by the driver.

Uber responded to Agrawal’s tweet with an apology and a commitment to take appropriate actions against the accused driver. Subsequently, local authorities identified and arrested the driver, who hails from the Gadag district of the state.
