Myntra is set to boost its workforce by hiring more women in both its supply chain and contact centre operations as part of its preparations for the upcoming Big Fashion Festival. The e-commerce company has announced plans to employ 21% more women than the previous festive season, specifically targeting individuals from economically disadvantaged backgrounds. These women will undergo training in various aspects of supply chain operations, including picking, packing, sorting, and unpacking, with instruction provided by both in-house experts and external professional trainers.
Myntra’s recruitment efforts will span various locations and villages, focusing on states such as Haryana, Telangana, West Bengal, and Karnataka. Moreover, the company is emphasizing diversity and inclusion, with 45% of the total hires in the contact centre during the festive season being women. Nupur Nagpal, CHRO at Myntra, emphasized their commitment to advancing the fashion ecosystem and the crucial role women will play in enhancing customer experiences during the festive season.
