WhatsApp will no longer work on certain older Android phones and iPhones from October 24, 2023. The list of unsupported devices includes models from Samsung, LG, and others. WhatsApp stated that they stop supporting older operating systems to focus on the latest ones. Users will be notified and reminded to upgrade their devices before support is discontinued. In India, only the Nexus 7 smartphone will be affected by this change. Users of unsupported operating systems will receive notifications and reminders to upgrade.
