Xiaomi is replacing its MIUI operating system with a new software skin called HyperOS for its devices, starting with the upcoming Xiaomi 14 series smartphones. The CEO of Xiaomi, Lei Jun, announced the debut of HyperOS and mentioned that production has already begun. Alvin Tse, the VP at Xiaomi India, confirmed that HyperOS will gradually replace MIUI in older phones and tablets. It is not clear whether HyperOS will be a rebrand of MIUI or a completely new Android skin, but Tse suggests that it will be a completely new architecture. HyperOS will be available globally and is expected to roll out throughout 2024.
