ASSOCHAM Symposium Focuses on Accelerating Adoption of Industry 4.0 Technologies for Karnataka Industries Bangalore, November 9, 2023

ASSOCHAM (The Associated Chambers of Commerce and Industry of India) today organized a one-day Symposium on ‘ACCELERATING ADOPTION of AFFORDABLE & APPROPRIATE TECHNOLOGIES of INDUSTRY 4.0 FOR KARNATAKA LARGE, MEDIUM & SMALL INDUSTRIES TOWARDS 1 TRILLION USD ECONOMY’ at The Lalit Ashok, Bangalore.

The Symposium aimed to bring together industry leaders, policymakers, and experts to discuss the challenges and opportunities in adopting Industry 4.0 technologies for Karnataka’s large, medium, and small industries (MSMEs). Industry 4.0, also known as the Fourth Industrial Revolution, is the ongoing transformation of traditional manufacturing and industrial processes using modern smart technologies, such as artificial intelligence, the Internet of Things (IoT), and big data. Smt. Gunjan Krishna, Commissioner, Commerce & Industry, Government of Karnataka graced the event as the Chief Guest. In her address, she highlighted the importance of Cluster based development and Industry 4.0 for Karnataka’s MSMEs and emphasized the need for collaboration between the government, industry, and academia to accelerate the adoption of these technologies. Shri. T R Parasuraman, Chairman, ASSOCHAM Southern Regional Development Council & Chairman, ASSOCHAM Karnataka State Development Council & Executive Advisor, Toyota Group & Toyota Kirloskar Motors Pvt Ltd, also addressed the Symposium. He spoke about the potential of Industry 4.0 to transform Karnataka’s manufacturing sector and urged MSMEs to embrace these technologies to enhance their competitiveness and productivity.

The Symposium featured a series of panel discussions on various aspects of Industry 4.0, including:

• The benefits of Industry 4.0 for MSMEs

• The challenges of adopting Industry 4.0 technologies

• Case studies of successful Industry 4.0 implementations

Government initiatives to support Industry 4.0 adoption Officials from leading companies like TVS Motor Co. Ltd., Siemens Industry Software (I) Pvt. Ltd., Bosch Software & Digital Solutions., Tata Technologies shared their views on Industry 4.0 and its importance for MSMEs and other industries in Karnataka. The Symposium concluded with a call to action for Karnataka’s MSMEs to embrace Industry 4.0 and unlock its potential for growth and innovation.
