Ola Cabs is poised to unveil a collaboration with the government-backed Open Network for Digital Commerce (ONDC). Bhavish Aggarwal, CEO of Ola Cabs, hinted at this partnership on the social media platform X, signaling an imminent announcement.
This collaboration marks Ola’s integration as a logistics partner on the ONDC platform, scheduled to commence nationwide operations in January next year. Sources familiar with the matter, speaking anonymously, disclosed that Ola’s logistics services will cater to various ONDC categories, including medicines, apparel, and groceries. Initially, these services will exclusively rely on the company’s fleet of electric two-wheeler scooters.
Expanding beyond logistics, the partnership might also encompass mobility services through ONDC. While Ola had previously joined ONDC in September, focusing solely on food delivery through its app, this recent development signifies a comprehensive role shift. Ola Cabs is expected to transition into a fully-fledged third-party delivery service across diverse categories, extending beyond food offerings.
