Zee Entertainment Enterprises Ltd. (ZEE) has entered into a strategic partnership with the National Association of Software and Service Companies (NASSCOM) to support the Generative AI Foundry program.

According to the company’s statement, the initiative is designed to spur innovation and growth within the startup ecosystem, particularly in the field of artificial intelligence (AI).

Focus on media and entertainment

Central to this partnership is ZEE’s Technology and Innovation Centre, which will concentrate on developing and backing generative AI solutions tailored for India’s media and entertainment (M&E) sector.

The collaboration also marks a significant step in integrating advanced AI technologies into the M&E industry, aiming to revolutionize consumer experiences.

Workshop to forge synergies

In a collaborative effort, NASSCOM and ZEE’s Technology and Innovation Centre recently organized a one-day workshop.

The event aimed to identify mutual areas of interest and potential partnerships. During this workshop, ZEE hosted 14 startups from the NASSCOM Generative AI Foundry program at its Technology & Innovation Hub in Bengaluru, fostering an environment of collaborative growth.

Empowering startups

The Generative AI Foundry program, a NASSCOM initiative, has been instrumental in nurturing technology startups in the AI domain. Recently, the program selected 26 promising startups, in collaboration with over 30 industry organizations and investors.

The startups are set to receive extensive support, including mentorship, resource access, funding, and industry connections, to elevate their products and solutions.

Nitin Mittal, president – technology & Data, ZEE, said “We are delighted to embark upon this exciting journey in collaboration with nasscom, aiming to shape the future of India’s AI community. The synergy between our endeavours, nasscom’s commitment to nurturing tech startups, and ZEE’s leadership in media innovation signifies more than just a convergence of minds—it represents a fusion of futuristic visions poised to define the industry’s next chapter.”

Ankit Bose, head of NASSCOM AI, said “The partnership between both organisations is a significant one for the Generative AI startups. It is heartening to witness excellent initiatives from the industry to collaborate with these startups. The innovative solutions possess the potential to transform various sectors including M&E.”
