Reliance Jio set up a mobile tower in the remote part of Uttarakhand near the collapsed Silkyara-Barkot tunnel within 12 hours. Overcoming challenges of no power, poles, and poor road connectivity, the telecom operator provided voice and data services to aid the rescue of 41 trapped construction workers. The successful rescue operation led to the extraction of all workers. The tunnel is part of the Char Dham all-weather accessibility project being built by Navayuga Engineering Company Limited.
