The total number of 5G subscriptions in India is expected to reach 130 million by 2023 and may grow to 860 million by 2029, according to a report. India’s average data traffic per smartphone is the highest globally. 5G penetration is expected to have topped 11% in India by the end of 2023. India is seeing substantial 5G network deployments, and 5G subscriptions are estimated to account for 68% of mobile subscriptions in the region by the end of 2029. Despite this, 4G continues to be the dominant subscription type in the country.
