Tata submitted a proposal for a chip processing plant in Assam, with an outlay of Rs 40,000 crore. Assam chief minister confirmed the application and mentioned that the company approached the Centre for final approval. The state government had discussions with Tata about the plant, and if approved, it will bring significant investment and job opportunities. In addition to this, Tata is planning to construct a large iPhone assembly plant in Tamil Nadu, aiming to employ 50,000 workers within two years.
