X banned over 3 lakh accounts in India, here’s why

X Corp, led by Elon Musk, has banned over 3 lakh accounts in India. Adding to this, CEO Linda Yaccarino has banned 2,233 more accounts. The ban was due to policy violations, including promotion of child sexual exploitation, non-consensual nudity, and terrorism. X has banned around 3,35,269 accounts in total. This ban was in compliance with the new IT Rules 2021. X released a monthly report, revealing 1,062 user complaints in India, with 52 related to appealing account suspensions. One account suspension was overturned, while the rest remain suspended. The complaints mainly centered around hateful conduct, abuse/harassment, sensitive adult content, and impersonation.
