Vodafone Idea (Vi) plans to launch 5G services in 6-7 months and expects financial clarity. Vi will fully switch off its 3G network by FY25 and use 2100 MHz band for 4G. Airtel and Reliance Jio launched 5G services a year ago and want the government to shut down 2G and 3G. Vi has already shut down 3G services in some regions and will phase it out in others. Vi is in discussions with technology partners for 5G rollout and is in advanced stages of 5G trials.
