Asus launches ROG Academy: A platform to nurture emerging gaming talent |

ASUS has announced the launch of the ninth edition of its esports training programme, ROG Academy. The programme is open to aspiring gamers aged 16 and above who can register on the official ROG Academy website starting from February 4. The main objective of the esports training programme is to nurture and develop emerging gaming talent. Participants will have access to top-tier infrastructure, mentorship, and guest sessions from industry veterans.
Selected players will also receive a monthly stipend of Rs 15,000 and the latest ROG gears for training purposes. Season 9 will be led by Saharyar ‘BaDMaN’ Shaikh, a CS:GO In-Game Leader (IGL) with a 10-year career and significant influence in the competitive gaming scene. The curriculum for Season 9 has been designed in collaboration with AFK Gaming, with a focus on mastering various aspects of gameplay.
Previous seasons of ROG Academy have witnessed over 13,000 registrations and 48 players successfully transitioning to the professional level. Notable alumni from Season 8 have secured placements in Grayfox Esports.

How to apply for ROG Academy Season 9

  • Starting February 4, 2024, individuals aged 16 and above interested in gaming can enroll in the program via https://asus.in/ROGacademy/.
  • Participants between 16 and 18 years old require parental consent to join the academy.

ROG Academy Season 9: Selection Process

  • Application Assessment: Before acceptance, candidates must fill out a form evaluating their game knowledge, role, and gameplay style.
  • Theoretical Examination: Participants face challenging scenarios to assess their situational awareness and decision-making abilities.
  • Skill Assessment: Candidates undergo various challenges to demonstrate their shooting skills.
  • Scrims: Finally, gameplay and communication skills are observed to determine the best fit for each role.
