SUMMARY

While Podila is the chief software architect, Aksekar serves as the chief information security officer

Aksekar, who has also been serving the company since 2021 is in charge of developing the company’s information security layer

Podila has also been associated with the company since 2021 and stepped down from the position of chief software architect

Tata Digital, the ecommerce arm of the salt-to-software conglomerate Tata Sons, is set to see exodus of two more senior executives from its ecommerce superapp Tata Neu.

Pavan Podila, chief software architect, and Samir Aksekar, chief information security officer, at Tata Neu are set to leave the company in the coming weeks, according to a report by Moneycontrol.

Citing sources, the report said that their next move was not immediately known by the company. In addition, the company said, “We do not offer comments on individual employees who decide to move on in pursuit of their personal ambitions, professional challenges or other reasons.”

As per Podila’s LinkedIn profile, he has been associated with the company since 2021, prior to which he served Publicis Sapient as the Senior Director of Technology. He also worked with Labs49, Bloomberg and a few other organisations in several tech-based roles.

On the other hand, Aksekar, who has also been serving the company since 2021 is in charge of developing the company’s information security layer. Prior to this, he served major global companies, including, JPMorgan India and Singapore as well as in IBM in cybersecurity and other tech-based roles.

With this, the two leaders join the row of the senior management of Tata Digital who have moved out of their respective positions.

In October 2023, Rajiv Subramanian, who was leading the Tata Neu’s travel division stepped down.

Within a span of a year, the company saw exits of other senior executives, namely, Prateek Mehta and Sharath Bulusu.

Owing to this, the company had to initiate a leadership reshuffling as well. Following Shivcharan Pulugurtha’s resignation from the company, as the chief strategy and business officer, it appointed former Mobikwik executive Mukul Saxena in the role

Last year, it also roped in Nykaa chief business officer Gopal Asthana as the CEO of Tata CLiQ.

Though the mystery behind the chain of leadership resignation remains unsolved, the Tata Group was reported to be planning an investment of $1 Bn in its super app venture Tata Neu.
