The Entrepreneurship Cell at IIT Hyderabad organized its 6th flagship event- E-Summit 2024, in collaboration with BVR Scient as Title Sponsor and co-presented by NPCI. Themed “Aarohati,”  a Sanskrit word for ‘Ascent,’ E-Summit perfectly captured the journey of how startups rise to success.

Startup Fair -Confluence of 60+ startups at IIT Hyderabad

The heart of E-Summit ’24 was the Startup Fair, where 60+ startups from 14+ domains like Healthcare, Fin-Tech, SaaS, Ed-Tech, Food, Agro-Tech, EV, and many more showcased their products and services. Interacting with investors, speakers, and incubators: students and startups from all over India came together.

Fetching Fortune: Startup Pitch Competition
Fetching Fortune, the Startup Pitch competition saw eight finalists selected for pitching their startups to judges out of a pool of 300+ submissions. Competing for a prize pool of INR 3.5 Lakh, the startups had 12 minutes to sell why they deserved to bring the prize home. Investing and business stalwarts like Vatsal Kanakia (CEO, 100X VC), Shveta Raina (CEO, Talerang), Hrishikesh Nashikkar (Head of Blockchain, NPCI), and others formed the judging panel.

Insights from Respected Speakers
Lighting the lamp with R.K. Pillai and B.S. Murty, Mr. Vishal Kanvaty, the CTO of NPCI, shared his inspiring journey at NPCI and drew parallels to innovation and entrepreneurship from his own experiences. Post his keynote speech, Mr Vishal announced the launch of a three-month hackathon for IIT Hyderabad students. This collaboration between NPCI and E-Cell, IIT Hyderabad, aims to bring out innovative solutions in digital payments, crypto, Blockchain, and other domains and inspire the next generation of innovators.

Furthermore, speakers like Dr. Vijender Chauhan (Interviewer, Academic, and Influencer), Acharya Prashant (IIT-IIM Civil Servant), Sandeep Jain (CEO, GeeksforGeeks), Pradeep Mittal (Founder and VC), Srinivas Kollipara (Founder, T-Hub), Anu Acharya (CEO, MapMyGenome), Ankit Mehrotra (Founder, Dineout), K.M Chandrasekhar (Former Cabinet Secretary of India), Dr. Anjali Nigam (CEO, WCG), Sudhakar Potukuchi (Head, BVR Scient) K.P Fabian (Former Ambassador of India to Qatar), Tittu Varghese (Blockchain Specialist, NPCI) were among the other great speakers at the summit.

Enriching Talks and Fun Events
Alongside panel discussions and keynote talks, workshops on crypto, blockchain, AI, and web development, a 3-day food festival and competitions allowed students to connect, explore, learn, upskill, and have fun. With a footfall of 7000+ students, E-Summit 24 testified to the impact that E-Cell, IIT Hyderabad aims to achieve.
