Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed his joy, stating that Sudha Murty’s nomination is a powerful testament to the strength of women, or ‘Nari Shakti,’ in shaping the destiny of the nation.

Sudha Murty, who is 73 years old and the spouse of Infosys co-founder N R Narayana Murthy, serves as the chairperson of the Murty Trust and is a prolific author with numerous books to her credit.
This nomination aligns with International Women’s Day, celebrating the achievements of women across various fields. Sudha Murty received the Padma Shri award in 2006 and the Padma Bhushan in 2023, recognizing her outstanding contributions to society.
