Beatoven.ai, an artificial intelligence-powered music creator startup for video and podcast content creators, has raised $1.3 Mn (INR 11 Cr) in a pre-Series A funding round led by Capital 2B, with participation from IvyCap Ventures, Upsparks Capital, Rukam Capital and a host of angel investors.

The startup plans to deploy the fresh proceeds to fuel its growth across various aspects such as user experience. It will also use the capital to grow its team across research and development for music creation and composition. 

Besides, the funding will also be used to develop a scalable go-to-market strategy to reach and acquire new users on a global scale.

Additionally, Beatoven is aiming to support independent musicians through their artist-friendly data sourcing program, which has been recognised for its ethical practices. 

Khan said, “Within roughly a span of a year of launch we have seen tremendous growth on our product reaching 1 Mn users with 96% of our revenues coming from global markets such as US, Europe and South Korea as well as presence for our product in 100+ countries.” 

The startup claims to have a base of 1 Mn users globally. As per the startup, it earns 96% of its revenue from international markets. 

By leveraging AI, users can input prompts for text-to-music generation, and is currently testing out multimodal inputs where a user can input video/images, text and audio references to generate a closely aligned music track. 

Beatoven also provides granular control over volume, instruments and emotions. According to the startup, it has already established partnerships with over 200 artists and plans to significantly expand this network by collaborating with at least 500 artists within the next 2-3 years.
