The settlement move, first reported by the Times of India, comes in less than a month after Pallia’s appointment following resignation of Thierry Delaporte in early April, under whose leadership at least two lawsuits were filed in November.

Wipro did not respond to a request for comment.

In January this year, a Bengaluru civil court referred the case against Dalal to arbitration, to be heard outside court proceedings.

Dalal and Mohd Ehteshamul Haque, the company’s former senior vice president and head of healthcare and medical devices business, were sued by the Bengaluru-headquartered IT major, which is backed by businessman Azim Premji.

Both Dalal and Haque joined global rival Cognizant Technology Solutions less than 12 months after resigning from Wipro.Wipro claimed damages of over Rs 25 crore from Dalal along with interest payout at an 18% interest rate from September 29 (Dalal’s exit date) for violation of employment terms.

As part of the non-compete agreement, one of the clauses barred Dalal from joining any other rival company for a period of 12 months from the date of his resignation. After a stint of 21 years at Wipro, Dalal resigned as the CFO of Wipro in September and served his last day until November 30, following which he joined global rival Cognizant on December 1.

The complaint against Haque also presses serious charges where Wipro has alleged that Haque was in possession of confidential information whereby he uploaded and emailed “seven files” containing confidential information from his personal Gmail account on or about June 20, 2023, that was flagged off by its IT team on June 22.
