Salesforce chief Marc Benioff recently posted a photo with spiritual leader Sadhguru during the annual ‘Dreamforce’ event in San Francisco.
Sadhguru shared his thoughts on the intersection of AI and policy, saying, “At Dreamforce, the exploration of the possibilities of AI is incredible. At the same time, it’s important that we understand that policies never move at the same speed as technology. So having a grasp over what is happening and how the negative aspects of AI don’t proliferate in a big way, to minimize collateral damage is most important. I hope the companies and governments across the world wake up to this and ensure the best of AI possibilities will reach the people, as this is a phenomenal enabler for humanity like never before.”
Recently, Salesforce also announced Rahul Dravid, the legendary Indian cricketer, as their first-ever brand ambassador. Dravid’s role is part of the ‘Growing With India’ campaign, aimed at helping Indian businesses grow using Salesforce’s all-in-one CRM platform. Indian companies such as Royal Enfield, Clear, Snapdeal, and Listenlights are already leveraging this platform to enhance customer experience.
Benioff announced at the annual ‘Dreamforce’ event in San Francisco that the world is entering an “Indian era,” highlighting India’s growing global influence.
“There is no question that we are going to move into an incredible moment in India. And you know it’s a very exciting opportunity,” he said.
Benioff expressed confidence in Salesforce’s expanding presence in India, where the company employs over 11,000 people. He emphasised the significance of the Indian operations in engineering and market engagement, mentioning clients such as Bajaj Group.
Praising Arundhati Bhattacharya, former SBI Chairperson and current head of Salesforce India, Benioff credited her leadership for driving this growth. While he did not disclose specific workforce expansion plans, he stressed India’s crucial role in Salesforce’s future strategy.
In addition, Salesforce introduced ‘Agentforce,’ an autonomous AI tool designed to streamline business processes, and its partner network with AWS, Google, IBM, and Workday. The company also recently collaborated with NpostposposVIDIA for launching advanced autonomous AI agents for enterprise.
In other news, Fintech giant Klarna CEO Sebastian Siemiatkowski announced that the company will end its service provider relationships with Salesforce and Workday as part of a major internal overhaul driven by AI initiatives. This decision aligns with Klarna’s broader strategy to streamline its technology infrastructure by leveraging AI to standardise and simplify its processes.
