Apple Watch has gained a lot of sleep monitoring features in recent years, but there are still third-party apps that provide a more in-depth analysis of your sleep data. One of these apps is Gentler Streak, and its latest update adds new insights and options for sleep tracking.

Gentler Streak gets new sleep monitoring features

Version 5 of Gentler Streak brings a lot of cool new features when it comes to sleep monitoring. The team behind the app spent months working with healthcare professionals and testing multiple sleep devices to provide an in-depth sleep analysis.

Every morning, Gentler Streak will show the user a concise description of their sleep quality with details on sleep duration, restorative sleep, stages and more. Users can easily see a short-term overview of their sleep over recent nights. The app will also help users identify areas for improvement.

Gentler Streak also uses sleep data combined with other health data collected from your Apple Watch to update the Wellbeing section, which helps users easily understand what’s good and what needs attention about their health.

Speaking of the Wellbeing section, it has also been updated to allow users to better customize the metrics shown. More recently, the app was updated with support for tinted icons in iOS 18.

Gentler Streak is an app that helps users better understand their physical condition to know whether they can improve their workouts or whether they’re pushing too hard. The app received Apple’s App of the Year award for Apple Watch in 2022 and earned a spot as a finalist for the 2023 Apple Design Award

This year, Gentler Streak won an Apple Design Award in the Best Social Impact category.

You can download Gentler Streak for free on the App Store, but some advanced features require a subscription or a lifetime license. Make sure to check out the interview with Katarina Lotric, the founder of Gentler Streak, here on 9to5Mac.

It’s worth noting that the app works best with an Apple Watch.
