While the leak does not specify the exact refresh rate, it hints that Apple might equip all iPhone 17 models with LTPO panels. This would mark a significant upgrade from the LTPS panels used in the iPhone 15 and iPhone 16 series, which are limited to a 60Hz refresh rate.
Earlier, Apple analyst Ross Young also predicted that the iPhone 17 and the rumoured iPhone 17 “Air” would feature ProMotion OLED displays. The LTPO panels would not only support a high refresh rate but also offer always-on display capabilities, allowing users to check notifications, time, and widgets without unlocking their phones.
In addition to the display upgrade, rumours suggest that the iPhone 17 series will feature an anti-reflective display, potentially more scratch-resistant than the Ceramic Shield used in current iPhone models.
With the anticipated launch set for September 2025, there are still several months to go. In the meantime, you can expect a steady stream of new information to surface, resurface, and disappear again.
Without Apple’s official confirmation, it is hard to know which features would make it to the final product.
