IT major Infosys has started layoffs of around 700 campus recruits who were onboarded in October after a wait of over 2.5 years, according to the Nascent Information Technology Employees Senate (NITES) and affected students.However, Infosys confirmed that the number of recruits laid off is below 350.

“In a shocking and unethical move, Infosys has begun forcefully laying off around 700 campus recruits who were onboarded just a few months ago in October 2024,” said Harpreet Singh Saluja, a lawyer and president of NITES.
