India is ranked 8th out of 32 countries in digitalisation, according to the latest CHIPS Index by the ICRIER-Prosus Centre for Internet and Digital Economy (IPCIDE). The report, ‘State of India’s Digital Economy (SIDE) 2025,’ shows India ahead of Japan, Brazil, Australia, and Mexico but behind the US (1st), China (2nd), the UK (4th), and Germany (7th).

India is the third-largest digital economy after the US and China, but its per capita digitalisation ranks 28th out of 32 countries. Key challenges include:
