OpenAI’s video-generation model Sora launches in EU, UK

OpenAI has rolled out its video-generation model, Sora, to users in the European Union, the UK. Switzerland, Norway, Liechtenstein, and Iceland.

On Friday, the company announced on X that ChatGPT Plus and Pro subscribers in these regions can now create videos using the model.

The artificial intelligence (AI) model was first introduced in February last year, but access was restricted to safety testers during its research preview phase. The model, which creates video from text, was made available to ChatGPT Plus and Pro users in December 2024.
