The BIS said that the searches in Lucknow, Gurugram and Delhi were undertaken for curbing sale of “non-certified and potentially unsafe products”

The BIS found that other ecommerce players such as Meesho, Myntra and BigBasket were also selling “several” non-certified products on their platforms

This comes a couple of months after the BIS released draft guidelines for ecommerce platforms, aimed at ensuring greater accountability among online marketplaces
