The Federal Communications Commission said Friday it is investigating Chinese companies including ref=”dofollow” data-ga-onclick=”Inarticle articleshow link click#Tech#href” href=”https://economictimes.indiatimes.com/topic/huawei” target=”_blank”>Huawei Technology, ZTE, Hangzhou Hikvision, ref=”dofollow” data-ga-onclick=”Inarticle articleshow link click#Tech#href” href=”https://economictimes.indiatimes.com/topic/china-mobile” target=”_blank”>China Mobile, ref=”dofollow” data-ga-onclick=”Inarticle articleshow link click#Tech#href” href=”https://economictimes.indiatimes.com/topic/china-telecom” target=”_blank”>China Telecom and others to determine if they are seeking to evade U.S. restrictions.
The Chinese companies have all been placed on the FCC’s “Covered List” that deems specific communications equipment and services that pose a threat to U.S. national security.
