Tesla says will release FSD feature in China after software approval

Tesla on Monday said it will release its smart driving-assistance feature in China after completing approval of relevant software.

The announcement, via the company’s customer support Weibo account, came after Chinese social media users said Tesla’s roll out of a free trial of Full Self-Driving (FSD) service in China initially scheduled between March 17 and April 16 had been paused.

In late February, China’s industry ministry issued new rules requiring autonomous driving-related over-the-air software upgrades to be subject to regulatory approval.
