Perplexity CEO Aravind Srinivas recently stated on a podcast that he would be impressed by the “bravery” of an Indian company launching a competitor to the tech giants Instagram or WhatsApp.

Speaking to Zerodha cofounder and investor Nikhil Kamath on his podcast, his comment was in response to a question on whether he believes young Indian entrepreneurs have an opportunity to disrupt the ad market dominated by Meta and Google and capture a share of this revenue.
