Vibe coding” is the latest buzzword in the arena of artificial intelligence (AI), describing a development in generative AI that some believe makes programming as simple as a texting a friend.

In a post on X in February, OpenAI cofounder Andrej Karpathy, who coined the term, said, “There’s a new kind of coding I call ‘vibe coding’, where you fully give in to the vibes, embrace exponentials, and forget that the code even exists.”
