Stance Health, an innovator in musculoskeletal (MSK) care, today announced it has secured $1 million in pre-seed funding. The round was led by General Catalyst, with participation from Antler, DEVC, EX Capital (Founders of Sword Health), and prominent angel investors such as Sriharsha Majety and Nandan Reddy, co-founders of Swiggy, along with Kulin Shah, co-founder of Onsurity.
This funding will enable Stance Health to scale its structured, technology-driven MSK care model in India, addressing a traditionally unorganized market. The investment will support the development of its proprietary technology platform and the expansion of its team and multidisciplinary MSK centres across Bangalore and other major Indian cities. By leveraging advanced analytics and personalized therapeutic interventions, the company aims to create an integrated ecosystem that enhances the entire patient journey—from diagnosis to complete recovery.
“The fragmented nature of musculoskeletal care in India has long obstructed patient access to effective treatments,” said Rohit Arora, Co-founder and CEO of Stance Health. “This funding allows us to leverage state-of-the-art technology to broaden our reach and standardize care throughout the country. We believe musculoskeletal care needs the ethos of medical science but with a very strong consumer-focused understanding, all of it powered by technology. We thank our investors for sharing our vision and supporting our efforts.“
Stance Health is bridging the gaps in MSK care by combining medical expertise, rehabilitation specialists, and advanced diagnostics into a comprehensive, omnichannel care system. Its precision-driven rehabilitation framework utilizes AI-based motion sensors, objective strength assessments, and structured treatment pathways to deliver consistent and measurable outcomes. Patients follow a three-phase recovery process—Reassess, Restore, Reignite, ensuring a structured approach that blends clinical expertise with technology for long-term recovery and return to sport.
Anand Chandrasekaran, who led the pre-seed round while serving as Partner at General Catalyst said,“Stance Health’s model stands out in India by blending offline touchpoints with online engagement, setting it apart from approaches in developed markets. Rohit and Ninad’s ability to combine clinical excellence with scalable, consumer-first execution is precisely what the Indian healthcare ecosystem needs. General Catalyst is happy to partner with them as they drive advancements in healthcare.”
Nitin Sharma, Partner at Antler, which supports high-impact ventures such as Namma Yatri and Mysa, added, “MSK care has seen limited innovation despite its growing burden on healthcare systems. Stance Health’s model not only improves patient access to structured treatment but also builds a scalable, tech-enabled framework that can set new industry benchmarks. We believe their approach can redefine how MSK disorders are managed in India.“
Orthopedic department heads from leading institutions like Manipal Hospitals and Kauvery Hospitals have also backed this funding round, demonstrating significant support from the medical community for Stance Health’s mission to streamline and improve MSK care delivery through innovative technology.
Within 8 months of launching their pilot center, Stance Health has conducted over 12,000 sessions, achieving patient retention rates up to three times higher than the industry average. With strong consumer trust, the company is now focused on expanding its reach to increase access to high-quality MSK care.
