India leads in AI hiring, lags in patents

The AI race is intensifying, with China closing the gap with the US, both in terms of model performance as well as AI usage by organisations, the latest Stanford AI Index Report shows. Moreover, global optimism around the technology has gone up though apprehensions remain. About 60% of people believe AI will change how individuals do their job over the next five years while 36% believe that AI will replace their jobs in the next five years.

India tops the AI hiring rate year-on-year at 33% and is still the second-largest contributor to GitHub AI
