As artificial intelligence (AI) advances, it’s not only driving innovation and productivity, but also inadvertently powering cybercriminals and malicious actors.

Tech giant Microsoft said in its latest Cyber Signals report that it thwarted fraud attempts worth $4 billion on its platforms Azure, Edge and others, and blocked about 1.6 million bot signup attempts per hour between April 2024 and April 2025.
