US tariffs on imports might bode well for smartphone exports from India, albeit only marginally, according to Crisil.

US President Donald Trump has maintained uncertainty around his “reciprocal tariffs”. He imposed trade duties on a long list of trade partners during the highly advertised Liberation Day event on April 2, only to pause them for 90 days a week later. In the meantime, he kept the back-and-forth going with China on hiking tariffs.

Days after staying tariffs on electronics, Trump said last week that China-made smartphones will not be exempt…
