The Enforcement Directorate (ED) on Wednesday conducted raids at eight locations linked to coaching giant FIITJEE in Delhi, Noida, and Gurugram, as part of an ongoing investigation into financial irregularities. The searches, which are still underway, involve premises associated with FIITJEE’s owner, DK Goel, and relate to the sudden closure of several FIITJEE centres earlier this year.
Authorities say the abrupt shutdown impacted the academic plans of nearly 12,000 students, while the institute’s owners allegedly earned around ₹12 crore in profit during the same period. The move has triggered significant backlash from parents and students.
The ED’s probe follows previous action by the Noida Police, who froze over 300 bank accounts tied to FIITJEE and seized ₹60 lakh in cash.
The controversy began in late January, when multiple FIITJEE centres—including those in Raj Nagar (Ghaziabad), Sector 62 (Noida), and Greater Noida—shut down without warning, leaving students stranded just before crucial exams.
