A Pune-based agritech startup, Two Brothers Organic Farms, is creating buzz across social media for its premium product — “Full Moon Ghee”, priced at ₹2,495 for a 500ml jar. The ghee is said to be crafted exclusively on full moon days, only 12 times a year, to harness the “energy and positivity of the night sky.” The product is backed by Nithin Kamath, the founder of Zerodha.
According to the startup, the ghee is made from A2 milk of free-grazing Gir cows, following an ancient Ayurvedic tradition. The milk is cultured into curd, which is then churned between 4 AM and 6 AM to extract butter. This butter is slowly melted over a firewood flame on full moon nights. The founders believe that the moon’s gravitational pull, known to affect ocean tides and human emotions, also influences the molecular structure and potency of the ghee, enhancing its wellness benefits.
Co-founder Satyajit Hange described it as a “sensory experience” and a powerful elixir meant to be consumed daily. While the startup positions it as a rare, carefully prepared health product, the high price and mystical marketing approach have drawn both fascination and skepticism from users on platforms like X.
