South Korea fines China’s Temu for user data violations

South Korea has fined Chinese ecommerce giant ref=”dofollow” data-ga-onclick=”Inarticle articleshow link click#Tech#href” href=”https://economictimes.indiatimes.com/topic/temu” target=”_blank”>Temu nearly one million dollars for illegally transferring Korean users’ personal information to China and other countries, a data protection watchdog said Thursday.

Chinese platforms such as Shein, Temu and AliExpress have skyrocketed in global popularity in recent years, offering a vast selection of products at stunningly low prices that have helped them take on US titan Amazon.
