In a bid to accelerate India’s semiconductor and electronics manufacturing ambitions, the central government has notified amended Special Economic Zone (SEZ) rules, significantly relaxing land and operational norms.
The amended rules reduce the minimum contiguous land requirement for setting up an SEZ from 50 hectares to just 10 hectares — a move aimed at attracting more investments in high-tech manufacturing.
