OYO’s founder, Ritesh Agarwal, has introduced a global naming contest to help rebrand the parent company, Oravel Stays. Participants are encouraged to propose a distinctive, one-word name that feels universal, modern, and human-friendly, ideally with a “.com” domain available. The winner will be awarded ₹3 lakh and get an opportunity to meet Agarwal. This initiative aligns with OYO’s broader plans for an IPO and the launch of a new standalone app for its premium and mid-range serviced hotel offerings worldwide. On the financial front, the company posted a profit after tax of ₹623 crore in FY 2024–25 and has maintained 10 straight profitable quarters on the EBITDA front, which reached ₹1,132 crore. OYO is currently working with investment banks and aims to go public by the fourth quarter of FY25.
