Bihar will reportedly become the first Indian state to introduce e-voting through a mobile application. Beginning with the municipal and urban local body elections on June 28, eligible voters in the state will be able to cast their vote remotely using an Android-based smartphone app.

Talking to Akashvani News, State Election Commissioner Deepak Prasad said the initiative will start with the upcoming polls scheduled on June 28 and will allow voters to cast their votes without visiting polling booths.
