Karnataka govt to drop 495 acres from hi-tech aerospace park plan after protests

Karnataka industries minister MB Patil on Tuesday announced that the government would drop 495 acres of land from the acquisition process for the proposed hi-tech defence and aerospace park in Devanahalli taluk, near the international airport in Bengaluru.

The land is situated across three villages in Channarayapatna hobli in Bengaluru rural district, and local farmers have been on a protest seeking to stall the acquisition.
