The Indian Influencer Governing Council (IIGC) has launched IIGC Protect, an initiative designed to support influencers by adding value through legal education and mental well-being.

In partnership with Trilegal, one of the largest law firms in India, as its Legal Knowledge Partner, IIGC Protect will ensure influencers have access to legal knowledge and resources. The partnership aims at producing legal primers covering critical areas such as brand agreements, advertising regulations, intellectual property rights, data privacy, artificial intelligence, and the financial obligations specific to finfluencers. In addition, IIGC Protect will host interactive workshops, directly addressing questions submitted by influencers.

Complementing the initiative, IIGC Protect has also partnered with United We Care x Adayu – A Fortis Group Company as its Exclusive Mental Health Partner to offer mental well-being support to influencers. This partnership will help influencers in the self-assessment of how mental health interventions impact creator performance and host Well-being Huddles, webinars where influencers can directly interact with UWC practitioners.

Yogesh Singh, Senior Partner and Head of Corporate Practice, Trilegal, added on the partnership, saying, “As the digital economy matures, influencers, brands, and platforms are navigating increasingly complex legal and regulatory landscapes. We support Indian Influencer Council Group (IICG)’s aim to equip all stakeholders (brands and influencers alike) with essential legal knowledge, so that they are able to make informed, and responsible decisions.”

Ritu Mehrotra, Founder and CEO, United We Care, shared her thoughts, saying, “The lives of influencers may appear glamorous, but it comes with unseen emotional and psychological demands. Our partnership with IIGC allows us to extend mental health support into the daily routines of creators, making care accessible, and deeply personal.”

Commenting on the launch, Sahil Chopra, Chairman, Indian Influencer Governing Council said, “With IIGC Protect, we’re helping influencers navigate the complexities of legal and mental health challenges and by joining hands with Trilegal and United We Care x Adayu – A Fortis Group Company, we will ensure that influencers have access to trusted guidance.”

Dr. Samir Parikh, Director, Department of Mental Health and Behavioural Sciences, Adayu – A Fortis Group Company, said: “Mental Health needs to be prioritised and we all need to come together as equal stake holders to ensure that mental health support is available for everyone. The role of technology in making mental health accessible unlocks the reach.”

While this shapes up, IIGC is ready for its upcoming Bangalore event on 28th June, which will feature dedicated sessions on IIGC Protect.
